    Personal information

  • When we refer to personal information we mean information from which your identity is reasonably apparent. This information may include information or an opinion about you.

  • The kinds of personal information we may collect about you include your name, date of birth, address, email address, phone number, account details, occupation, transaction history and any other information we may need to identify you.

  • If you are applying for finance, we may also collect the ages and number of your dependants and cohabitants, the length of time at your current address, your employment details and proof of earnings and expenses, and your Tax File Number or tax residency status.

  • When you visit our websites or use our mobile apps, we collect your location information, IP address, mobile device and network information and any third party sites you access.

  • The personal information we collect, hold and use may include Credit-related information.



    Credit-related information

  • Credit information is personal information or an opinion about you that has a bearing on credit that has been provided to you or that you have applied for. This includes information about your identity; the type, terms and maximum amount of credit provided to you, including when the credit was provided and when it was repaid; repayment history information, default information (including overdue payments); payment information; new arrangement information; financial hardship arrangement information; details of any serious credit infringements; court proceedings information; personal insolvency information and publicly available information.

  • Credit eligibility information is credit reporting information supplied to us by a credit reporting body, and any information that we derive from it.

  • We use your Credit-related information to assess your eligibility to be provided with finance. Usually, Credit-related information is exchanged between credit and finance providers and credit reporting bodies.

  • If you want to make purchases from or through us we will also collect your payment information. We will also collect this information if we need to make payments to you. If you apply for employment with us we will collect information about your work history and ask your referees about you.



    Why we collect your personal information

  • We collect and receive personal information about you (including Credit-related information) in order to conduct our business including for the purposes of assessing your application for finance and managing that finance, establishing your identity, contacting you, managing our risk, and to comply with our legal obligations. We may also collect your personal information for the purposes of direct marketing and managing our relationship with you.

  • If you apply to become a finance broker with us or apply for employment with us, we will collect information about you to assist us to decide whether to appoint you and to thereafter manage your relationship with us, including to offer other services and products to you.

  • We collect payment information in order to process your payments.



    How do we collect your personal information?

  • Where reasonable and practicable we will collect your personal information directly from you. We may also collect information that is publicly available, such as from public registers or social media, or made available by third parties. We may also collect your personal information from credit reporting bodies, finance brokers, employers and other people such as accountants, lawyers and referees.



    Do we disclose your personal information?

  • We may disclose your personal information to a range of parties such as funders, guarantors, brokers, IT service providers, legal advisers, data analysts, cloud storage providers (including overseas entities in the USA, Canada, Malaysia, India, Ireland, the UK, and the Philippines), credit reporting bodies and more. Disclosure is only made when appropriate protection measures are in place or when you have given your consent.



    Credit-related information (continued)

  • The credit-related information we hold may be stored electronically or in paper form. When we obtain credit eligibility information, we may also gather publicly available information and any serious credit infringements.

  • We use credit reporting bodies including Equifax Pty Ltd, Experian Australia Credit Services Pty Ltd, and Illion Australia Pty Ltd. Their privacy policies are available on their websites.



    Notifiable matters

  • We are required to advise you of certain matters regarding how we use your Credit-related information. You can request this information in an alternative format. Credit reporting bodies may use your information for pre-screening and fraud prevention purposes. You can contact them directly to opt out of certain uses or to report suspected fraud.



    Notifiable Data Breaches

  • Under the Privacy Act’s NDB scheme, we must notify you and the OAIC of data breaches likely to result in serious harm. We'll inform you of the breach, our steps to resolve it, and your next steps to protect yourself. Contact us if you suspect a breach affecting your data.



    Direct marketing

  • We may use your personal information for marketing offers, product updates or organisation changes. You can opt out at any time via email or the unsubscribe link in emails. We will not charge you to process your request.



    Updating your personal information

  • We rely on you to help us keep your information accurate and up to date. Contact us if your personal details change during your relationship with us.



    Access and correction to your personal and credit information

  • You may request access to or correction of the personal or Credit-related information we hold about you. We aim to respond within 30 days. We may charge a fee and need to consult with other parties. If we deny access or correction, we’ll provide our reasons.

  • Where lawful and practical, you may interact with us anonymously (e.g. for general inquiries).

    How safe and secure is your personal information that we hold?

  • We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. Information may be stored in paper or electronic formats in secure environments.



    Complaints

  • If you are dissatisfied with how we have dealt with your personal information or Credit-related information, or you have a complaint about our compliance with the Privacy Act and the Credit Reporting Code, you may contact us. We will acknowledge your complaint within seven days. We aim to provide you with a decision on your complaint within 30 days. We will let you know if we will take longer than 30 days and the relevant extension of time we will require to complete the complaints process.

  • If you are dissatisfied with our response after you have been through the internal complaints process, you may make a complaint to our External Dispute Resolution Scheme, the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) which can be contacted by phone on 1800 931 678, by email at info@afca.org.au, or in writing to GPO Box 3, Melbourne VIC 3001; or the OAIC which can be contacted on either www.oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
